We have a part-time employment opportunity for a compassionate, energetic person who desires to support children in Maine's foster care system and their foster parents.
Woodfords is growing and has an opening for a part-time Foster Family Support Worker within the Therapeutic Foster Care Program.
Woodfords' Therapeutic Foster Program provides treatment-level foster care to children birth to 21 years with developmental and / or emotional disabilities who cannot reside with their biological family. With the support of trained foster parents and Woodfords' treatment team, children are offered guidance with psychological, emotional, social, behavioral and learning issues. The best interests of the child are served while promoting family reunification and life skills growth.
Responsibilities of a Foster Family Support Worker:
Provide one-on-one support to a foster child including instruction on daily living skills, social interaction, behavior management and relief services to foster parents
Qualifications of a Foster Family Support Worker:
At least 18 years of age
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
Possess a valid driver's license, regular use of a reliable vehicle with full motor vehicle insurance coverage
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
Experience working with children

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
